Devotions for this week

Monday: Matthew 11: 1 – 15 1. Where was John the Baptist? 2. Read John 1:29 with Matthew 3:10 – 12. John believed the Messiah would clearly take away the sins of the world (john 1:29) but that he would also do what? 3. The question by John was are you the one to come or should we look for another, was he saying we need to look for another to take away sins or to bring about judgment? 4. John’s doubt was the same as believers even today, even though God is sovereign and will triumph, why do certain things happen? Can you comment on how we can relate with that even today??? 5. What things did Jesus say to honor this man John the Baptist? How is he different from other prophets?

Tuesday: Matthew 11: 16 – 19 1. What did Jesus compare his generation to? 2. What two things were done in the playful acts? 3. What did Jesus charge them with saying about John? What did he charge them with saying about him? 4. How does this represent our generation today and the gospel?

Wednesday: Matthew 11: 20 – 30 Cities 1. What did Jesus say that Chorazin and Bethsaida had seen that the cities of Tyre and Sidon did not see? 2 Jesus says if those cities would have seen it, they would have done what? 3. Why did Capernaum get the strongest condemnation by Christ when you compare with what he did in Matthew 4:13. 4. Who did Jesus say that God has hidden these things from representing the 4th category of unbelief in this chapter v 25? 5. The new message of Jesus starts in v 28 – 30 as he appeals not to groups but to the …………..
