Review from last week: What three points did we see about Moses’ choice (all start with an R)

Moses had faith based on respect for what?

Moses had faith that did not fear what?

Moses had faith to keep the what? Who did this point to? (Read Matthew 26: 26-29)

This is for Sunday night Study

Genesis Lesson 1: In the Beginning – Day 1 Scripture: Genesis 1:1-5. John 1:1-5

Think about a time in the distant past. A time before anyone you know was born, a time before there were birds or animals….a time before there were stars and planets. A time before there was, well, anything. It’s hard to do, isn’t it? All of that changed in the first 10 words of Genesis. In a single instant, we went from nothing in existence to everything existing….In this lesson we will explore how everything began. Paul tells us that we are transformed by the renewing of our mind and that is exactly what we intend to do as we begin a study in the book of Genesis.

Wednesday Read Genesis 1:1

– God chose to reveal Himself to us. He wanted us to know He exists. What do you think this tells us about the nature of God?

Read John 1:1-3

– Jesus, like God, is eternal. He has always existed.

– What strikes you about the similar wording of John 1:1-3 and Genesis 1:1?

Thursday: Read Genesis 1:1-3

– God spoke and created light. What do you think this “light” refers to? (Hint, this is not the sun)

Friday: Read: John 1:1-5

John refers to Jesus as the life and light of all mankind. What do you think “Light” represents?

Saturday: Read Genesis 1:1-5

In your opinion, Can something (anything) come from nothing without help?
